Microneedling

If you’re feeling frustrated by the presence of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, sagging skin, or other signs of moderate facial aging, we’re here to help, offering you a number of technologically advanced treatment options like Fractional RF, Radiofrequency Microneedling and more.

Unlike ablative laser treatments, Traditional Microneedling, Microneedling with Radiofrequency and Fractional Radiofrequency treatments can be performed on skin of all types and colors. What’s more, there is much less downtime using these treatment options than with some other skin resurfacing treatments.

Traditional & Nano Microneedling

Our traditional microneedling uses sterile medical-grade microneedles to puncture hundreds of micro channels into the skin. Microneedling uses a needle depth of 0.2mm-2.5mm that creates micro punctures in the skin which causes the body to naturally start healing itself with new collagen production.

  • Is good for lines, wrinkles and the full face
  • More budget friendly than RF Microneedling
  • Results tend to last shorter than RF Microneedling
  • Does not involve any heat injury which can make this treatment safer for darker skin tones
  • Downtime is 24 hours
  • For best results, combine with our Glutanex Glow Serum or Benev Exosome Regenerative Complex.

Recommended sessions: 4-5 treatments every 4-6 weeks

We also perform Nano microneedling with Nano pins. Nano needling is a great option to induce collagen production without any pain or downtime. It assists with pore reduction, it is much less invasive than traditional or RF Microneedling and allows up to 97% product absorption, such as our Glutanex Glow Serum or Kumiko Matcha Intense Recovery Plus serum.

Nano-needling can be done weekly.

Fractional Radiofrequency

Fractional RF uses a combination of dermal stamping and radiofrequency. Dermal stamping is an organic of rebuilding collagen and elastin. Radiofrequency uses low level radio waves to cause a thermal reaction within the dermis. This heat breaks down unhealthy cells and fibers, causing a stimulation to produce healthy new cells.

This treatment is non-invasive, painless, requires no downtime. Benefits include:

  • Fades acne scars
  • Minimize pore size
  • Improves texture and tone of the epidermis
  • Reduces wrinkles
  • Plumps skin
  • Induces natural healing responses

Recommended sessions: 4-5 treatments every 2 weeks

RF Microneedling

The treatment principle of Radiofrequency Microneedling, also known as skin needling, involves gently penetrating the skin with single-use needles to stimulate the release of growth factors that promote the production of collagen and elastin.

Unlike lasers or dermabrasion, RF microneedling is safe to use on various skin types and colors, including sensitive areas around the eyes. This targeted treatment does not damage the surrounding skin and has a fast recovery time.

One of the advantages of this machine is its vacuum feature. By capturing air through enhanced tissue engagement, the microneedles create channels for the delivery of RF energy. As the needles retract, air is released towards the skin, driving topicals deeper into the dermis and significantly enhancing their penetration. (by up to 67% more, providing exceptional results)

Benefits of RF Microneedling

Microneedling improves the thickness of the dermis as well as the epidermis. This in return improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. It also has a positive effect on hyper-pigmentation as well as on hypo-pigmentation, reduces disfiguring scars (including acne scars), stimulates new collagen fibers, improves blood supply and harmonizes pigmentation.

This treatment can be performed on the face or other parts of the body, including arms, stomach, thighs, and glutes. The procedure requires little downtime.

You’re likely a great candidate for RF microneedling if you’re interested in addressing:

  • Skin laxity or looseness around the jawline or eyes
  • Loose or sagging skin along your jawline
  • Fine lines and wrinkles, especially along your cheeks
  • Acne or surgical scars
  • Uneven tone or texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Downtime is 1-2 days
  • For best results, combine with our Glutanex Glow Serum, NCTF HA Boost or Benev Exosome Regenerative Complex.

Recommended sessions: 3-5 treatments every 4-6 weeks

FAQs

Most frequent questions and answers

We recommend 3-5 treatments spaced out 4 weeks apart.

  • Be overall healthy
  • Have texture irregularities, loose skin, or uneven skin tone
  • Maintain realistic expectations for treatment results
  • Want to address fine lines and moderate wrinkles in difficult areas (i.e. on the forehead or around their eyes)

It takes approximately 30-45 minutes, depending on the area(s) treated and if additional “add-ons” are selected.

Downtime is very minimal, usually 1-3 days. Patients should anticipate mild discomfort, redness, and irritation, with potential tiny, pinpoint scabs that form between 24 and 72 hours post-treatment. All of these reactions to the treatment will naturally disappear when the underlying skin has healed.

Absolutely. For the maximum amount of improvement, we often recommend combining our CO2 Laser Resurfacing with your RF Microneedling treatment. This helps treat the skin both from the surface with the laser and deeper with the RF Microneedling. This also allows for the most efficient use of recovery as your body will heal both treatments at the same time. During your consultation we will recommend the best treatment for you and your goals.

While microneedling is generally considered safe for most individuals, there are specific conditions or situations where the treatment may not be recommended. Individuals who should avoid or use caution when considering microneedling:

  1. Those with active acne, skin infections, or cold sores.
  2. Individuals with open wounds, cuts, or abrasions.
  3. Those with a history of keloids
  4. People with skin disorders or autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis, eczema, or lupus.
  5. Patients who have recently undergone radiation therapy or chemotherapy.
  6. Individuals using certain medications, including isotretinoin (Accutane) or other medications that may interfere with the skin’s healing process.
  7. Those who have had a recent cosmetic treatment or surgery, such as laser resurfacing, dermabrasion, or a deep chemical peel.
  8. Pregnant or breastfeeding women
  9. Individuals with a history of poor wound healing or a compromised immune system.
  10. Those with a history of skin cancer, especially in the treatment area.
  11. Individuals with uncontrolled diabetes
  12. People with a history of blood clotting disorders or those using anticoagulant medications.
  13. Those with active skin conditions such as rosacea, dermatitis, or sunburns in the treatment area.

Microneedling can make your skin more photosensitive. Any sun exposure without adequate sunscreen can increase your risk of developing hyperpigmentation, always wear a broad-spectrum SPF of at least 50+, and ideally a mineral-based sunscreen. Cleanse face with gentle cleanser for 5 days post treatment. No makeup for 24 hours. Avoid hot water, swimming and exercise for 48 hours.
